Have you ever fancied a go at Acrylic Pouring, but donโt know where to start? Want a fun few hours making 4 paintings on small, but different shaped canvases? Hereโs where you can start!
Paint pouring has become a very popular method of producing exciting and interesting, yet mostly โrandomโ and colourful paintings in a fun way.
This workshop is suitable for beginners or anyone who would like to spend time experimenting. No experience is necessary. There are various techniques which produce slightly different results, but all involve a mix of acrylic paint (or acrylic inks) with a pouring medium to get a smooth โdouble creamโ like consistency.
In this workshop I will show you different pouring techniques and you will create 4 small paintings. They will need to dry at least overnight before they can be collected from the gallery (ideally, in a few days afterwards). After our workshop, you will have tried out a few pouring techniques which you can put into practice on a larger scale at home, or another time.
I will demonstrate a โtraditional pourโ, a โdirty pourโ and a โDutch pourโ with acrylic paint and a โpuddle pourโ with acrylic inks, which you can try in the workshop.
Paint can be poured onto almost anything (pebbles, wood, paper, canvas – experiment!) but it tends to work best on a more solid surface rather than a canvas unless the canvas is well stretched, or relatively small.
