This workshop is an introduction to using Procreate on an iPad and is suitable for beginners or anyone who would like to learn the basics of the app. Procreate is like having a complete art studio at your fingertips and can be used to create anything from sketches and compositional drawings through to rich digital paintings and illustrations. It’s also the perfect companion for when you have limited time and space to work with traditional methods, plus you can take it anywhere!
In this discovery workshop I will be showing you some of the basics of the Procreate programme, including getting to grips with your iPencil, setting up new documents and exploring the basics of brushes, colours and layers.
I’ll also be showing you a variety of mark making techniques and fun ideas for you to try out for yourself. You will be welcome to print out A4 copies of your experimentations and creations to take home.
This 2 hour class is perfect for beginners, as learning a new programme can be quite daunting, but this workshop allows for plenty of experimentation and play, whilst avoiding the overwhelm of trying to take on board too much information too quickly.
Please note that this workshop will be touching on the basics of Procreate, so if you feel you’re ready for more in depth learning, please see my other available workshops.
Workshop Requirements:
Please note:
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. There will be a short break in the middle of the class, to ensure you have a stretch and a break away from your screens.
About Mel Langton:
I’m a designer and illustrator who works in Procreate as part of my professional art practice, using it to create much of my commissioned illustration work. I also love to create artwork using traditional methods but believe that digital artwork can be a wonderful way to experiment, play, plan, enhance and compliment that work.
