An art exhibition, Natures Palette, is bringing together five artists whose practices are deeply intertwined with nature, natural materials, texture, colour, and craft. The exhibition showcases a diverse collection of textile art, woodwork, kiln-fired glass, felt, and mixed-media creations—all united by a shared devotion to the natural world.
Karen McKenzie — Textile Artist
Karen’s work blends delicate watercolour with hand-stitched detail, capturing the essence of landscapes, world cultures, and places that have shaped her life. Karen gained an ‘A’ level in Art in sixth form but it was much later in life during her recovery from major surgery for cancer that she began to pursue artistic endeavours once again: this time as a way of focusing the mind and being present.
LapageMade — Woodwork & Homewares
Crafted from English Oak sourced in Lincolnshire, LapageMade’s engraved homewares celebrate the warmth, grain, and honesty of natural wood. Each piece is functional, decorative, and often personalised—bringing craftsmanship and nature into everyday living.
Alison Kemp — Kiln-Fired Glass Artist
Alison transforms her own nature photography into layered kiln-fired glass pieces. Using Bullseye Glass and multiple firings to build movement and texture, her work captures the shifting colours and rhythms of trees, beaches, and landscapes. Her pieces have been exhibited widely across Lincolnshire and beyond.
Helena — Spare Time by Helena
Helena’s work is shaped by inherited creativity: a Spanish mother who stitched wonders and a Scottish father who painted vivid memories. Her practice, developed over fifteen years, blends craft traditions with joyful exploration. Each piece is a continuation of her story— rooted in heritage, curiosity, and soulful making.
Robyn Smith — Felt Artist
Robyn’s felt art celebrates transformation—soft wool becoming strong, expressive artworks. Her pieces range from whimsical countryside narratives (rabbits harvesting carrots, toadstools, clothed creatures) to experimental abstract works incorporating silks, mixed fibres, and painted prints. With 20 years of felting experience, Robyn also teaches workshops at her studio and at Indigo Crow Gallery.
Natures Palette invites visitors to explore how natural materials—wool, glass, wood, textiles—can be transformed into artworks that carry memory, movement, and meaning. Each artist offers a unique perspective on nature, whether through narrative, abstraction, heritage, or craft tradition.
