Resident ‘Crow’ Mel Langton returns with Affirmations, a vibrant new solo exhibition celebrating self-belief, individuality and the strength to stand proudly in your own skin.
Bringing together bold mixed-media illustrations and paintings, this colourful collection explores what it means to embrace imperfection, find joy amongst the chaos and challenge the expectations placed upon us. Mel’s work invites us to celebrate difference and individuality, while questioning the often impossible standards of beauty and behaviour that tell us who we should be.

Central to the exhibition is a cast of wonderfully unconventional characters, each created by Mel to represent a particular affirmation or positive message. Every artwork has its own personality and purpose, designed to act as a small visual reminder of strength, resilience, confidence and self-worth.
Visitors are invited to find the character that resonates with them – whether it makes them laugh, gives them a much-needed boost or simply reminds them of something they already know: that they are enough, exactly as they are.
For those who find a particular character they can’t bear to leave behind, the artworks are available to take home, where they can become a colourful daily reminder to stay positive, embrace individuality and keep being unapologetically yourself.

Full of colour, character and joyful rebellion, Affirmations is an uplifting celebration of imperfection, unconventionality and the freedom to be yourself, because being different isn’t something to fix; it’s something to celebrate.
There will be a special private view on Monday 28th September 5pm to 7pm, which you are warmly invited to attend.
You can discover more of Mel’s work at her website.
