Beach Scene for Beginners Oil and Cold Wax
In this workshop you will create beach scenes on paper, with oil paint mixed with cold wax, this creates texture and random marks making the finished painting more abstract.
By the end of the session you will have an understanding of how oil and cold wax together can create beautiful, marks and textures with the use of simple tools and layering techniques. You will also have at least one painting with a mount, ready to frame.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, all materials will be provided.
- Paints may stain clothing
- Aprons will be provided
Tea, coffee & biscuit available throughout the day
Please bring a lunch
Sensible precautions when using paints or chemical products are essential. Asthma sufferers should be aware that fumes from solvents may be present.
About Margaret Bird:
Margaret paints abstracted landscapes in oil and cold wax or acrylics, often with moody skies, focussing more on the impression and feelings of a place than the reality. She was a teacher for many years before retiring to begin a new life as a painter. She is a member of the Lincolnshire Artists Society.
