Description

Wet Felted Tiger Portrait

In this half day workshop you will learn how to layer wool fibres and silks to create a felted portrait of a tiger.   We will begin by choosing colours and laying out the ears and nose pieces. Follow step by step instructions to measure out the facial features. Learn how to layer merino wool to create depth and realism in the piece.

Lots of colours will be available on the day so you may choose to do a white or rainbow tiger.

We will then wet felt the piece together and make it into a strong felted fabric. Then learn how to needle felt the eyes and nose and other details onto the face. The completed piece will be approximately 20 cm square.

No felting experience necessary, this class is aimed at beginners. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

  • Please bring a small towel and apron
  • We will be using wool fibres and fairy liquid soap, please bring gloves if you are intolerant to either.

About Eve Marshall:

I teach the instant gratification of felting. The techniques I teach I have created myself so that they are achievable for anyone who comes to my workshops. I spend countless hours playing with wool and I create something at least 50 times before I teach it to people. I have been felting for over 18 years and love sharing the magic of felting!

Please note some of the photos are from a full day workshop that I taught a couple of years ago. In this class we will be making a smaller tiger’s face.
