16, 23 & 30 January 2026 – 3 Day Workshop- Beginners Silversmithing at Sally Kheng’s Studio in Reepham

BEGINNERS SILVERSMITHING – 3 DAY WORKSHOP 10am – 3pm. £295 HELD AT MY STUDIO IN REEPHAM, LINCOLN.
All silver, stones and other materials are included. You will complete the course with a minimum of 3 new pieces of silver jewellery.

DAY ONE – Silver Pendant: Friday 16th January
Demo on how to use silver wire, silver sheet and setting a stone in silver clay.
Information on how and where to buy tools, findings and silver to get started.
Beginners soldering and silver ball and jump ring making.
Afternoon: Make a silver, domed, embossed pendant with sheet silver and silver balls.

DAY TWO – Silver rings: Friday 23rd January
A step by step guide on how to measure and make a wide silver ring that fits perfectly.
Practice the techniques of soldering, shaping, filing, sanding and polishing.
Afternoon: A demo on how to make a second ring to add to your first as a spinner ring. Then you will have chance to make one yourself.

DAY THREE – Silver Earrings: Friday 30th January
Firing your silver clay and stone into solid silver and soldering it on to your earrings.
Earrings will be created using all the techniques learnt, using silver wire/sheet combined with the silver clay set stone created in week 1. You will be encouraged to create your own design.

PLEASE NOTE: These 3 workshops, for Indigo Crow will all be held in Sally Kheng’s Studio in Reepham, Lincoln. – NOT at The Indigo Crow gallery workshop on Burton Road. Further details for parking and the full address will be sent by email a few days before the first workshop.

Please bring a pack up or a snack for your lunch. Tea and coffee will be available.

SAFETY:

• It is important to make sure your nails are not long or acrylic as you will not be able to use the tools properly.
• Hair must be tied back if it is long, for soldering and use of power tools.
• Please do not wear open toed shoes.
• Aprons and eye protection will be provided at the studio.
