Collagraph Printing Workshop
Collagraph is a versatile experimental form of relief & intaglio printing.
The plates we make are made from mount board. All kinds of items can be used to make the plate, wire, eggshell, melted crisp packet, sticky back foil, masking tape.
Also it’s possible to make marks on the plate using different tools, cutting away layers with a craft knife.
The shiny, smooth & raised areas will print ‘light’ whilst the rougher, textured absorbent areas will print darker.
This technique is all about texture.
The morning will be spent making our first plate & then using the plate to printing on calico.
The afternoon will spent investigating this technique, making more plates & printing.
All materials included.
This workshop is suitable for beginners.
