Description

Industrial Landscapes in Watercolour

Explore the bold structure and atmosphere of the industrial city in this dynamic new workshop with Sally Kheng. Using strong line work, loose washes and expressive mark-making, you’ll transform cranes, bridges, pylons and urban silhouettes into striking, atmospheric paintings.

Working from photographic inspiration, you’ll begin with confident line sketches before layering watercolour to capture scale, light and mood. Sally will demonstrate techniques for painting dramatic skies, simplified architectural forms and industrial textures, focusing on lifting, layering and controlled colour bleeds.

You’ll experiment with limited palettes, colour mixing and the unpredictable nature of watercolour, learning how to let the medium enhance the raw, engineered feel of the subject. Finish the day with a mounted artwork ready for framing.

All materials are provided (you’re welcome to bring favourite brushes or paints).

Tea, coffee and biscuits are available, with a half-hour lunch break – bring lunch or treat yourself and visit Nonna’s deli next door.
