An exhibition of mixed media art from Sally Kheng inspired by Antarctica

18th to 30th August 2026

Inspired by a recent trip to Antarctica, ‘Subzero’ is my exhibition of mixed media work, sketchbooks and photographs taken during this southern expedition. Having always painted my Lincolnshire landscapes and seascapes this new experience challenged everything I thought about the landscape on Earth. Looking at totally different colour pallets, new ways of painting and printing the ice and snow, different skies and a light that is such a contrast to England.

Whilst travelling around the southern hemisphere, I kept a daily diary and a detailed sketchbook in watercolour and collage so I would not forget the places I’ve been and this exceptional part of the world I was so privileged to see, that even my imagination could not have comprehended.

So bringing together my experience on this wonderful journey alongside my creative head and artistic traits, I have made and collated a body of fresh new work very out of my comfort zone… no trees and fields in this exhibition! The geometric shapes created by broken eyes flows, particularly enticed me into creating a new silver jewellery collection to sit alongside my paintings and mixed media work.

I would love for you to join me and see a small piece of my discovery of Antarctica, and you are particularly welcome to come for my private view on the opening night between 5 pm and 7 pm. Of course we will be serving ‘Subzero’ cocktails with ice and penguin straws… What else?!
