The Lives We Carry showcases two bodies of work which both explore the intimate relationships between women, family, memory and archive.
‘This Book Is Just for Me’, traces the connection between Emily and her great-great-aunt Ethel across a century, to the relationship between Maisie and her mother. Both bodies of work consider how experiences and emotion pass between one generation and another.
This photographic exhibition includes portraiture, archive, and personal narrative together with emotive landscapes which together explore what we inherit, what we remember and the invisible bonds that continue to shape who we become.
