Description
Words Beneath the Landscape
Watercolour and mixed media.
Discover the exciting possibilities of combining written words, painted papers and expressive watercolour landscapes in this imaginative mixed media workshop.
We will begin by creating beautiful textured background using watercolour washes, inks and experimental mark-making techniques. These will be combined with printed text, book pages and other paper elements to build a fascinating collaged foundation for our paintings.
Working over and around the collage, we will introduce sweeping skies, distant horizons and expressive landscape or seascape details, allowing glimpses of words and textures to emerge through the artwork. The sewing machine will be available as an option to add texture also.
Explore the wonderful contrast between loose watercolour painting and the structure of collage, creating layers of colour, texture and hidden meaning.
You will leave with a truly individual mixed media landscape, rich in visual interest and personal interpretation.
All materials included. Suitable for all abilities.
