Purr-fect Pastels: Cat Portrait Workshop
Cat Portrait in Soft Pastels
10am to 3.30pm
Join us for a hands-on and supportive soft pastel workshop where you will learn how to create a beautiful close-up portrait of a charming ginger and white cat. Working from a reference image, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of building colour, texture and detail using soft pastel pencils and sticks.
In this workshop particular attention is given to one of the most expressive features of all – the eyes.
This full-day workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers who want to develop their pastel techniques. You will explore blending, layering and fur textures while creating a striking animal portrait to take home. The final piece will measure approximately 20 x 20 cm and you will be given a mount to frame it.
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch.
Come along for a friendly, creative day and discover just how expressive soft pastels can be.
