Description

Needle Felted Hares

Spend a full, creative day immersed in the gentle art of needle‑felting as you craft your very own wool sculpture of a hare. Working with soft, natural wools, you’ll be guided step‑by‑step through the process of building a fully 3D form — from shaping the core structure to adding character and personality. Along the way, you’ll learn essential felting techniques.

As your hare takes shape, you’ll refine its features, sculpt expressive ears, and add those final touches that make each piece wonderfully unique. To complete your creation, you’ll set a pair of glass eyes that give your hare a lifelike presence.

This workshop is designed to be relaxed, friendly, and accessible to all skill levels

  • You will be using an extremely sharp needle during the workshop so care needs to be taken at all times.
  • If you have an allergy to wool please be aware we will be using wool fibres

About the tutor:

I am a felt artist and love working in wool to create my art. My work is either wet felted or needle felted to create pieces inspired by nature and or the countryside around me. I love creating toadstools, animals, birds and flowers in both 2D pictures and 3D sculptures. I have been felting for about 18 years which started as a hobby and I fell in love with the process of making the fluffy wool into a piece of felt and the endless possibilities of the medium.

I began teaching felt making in schools and running workshops locally about 12 years ago.

I am continually learning from the process of felt making in both techniques which helps shape my art work.
