Ceramic Frog on a Rock
Join wildlife artist Liz McLelland and hop into the wonderful world of clay sculpting. Liz will guide you step by step through the process of wildlife observation and hand-building techniques that will breathe life into the clay. You’ll see your amphibious friend emerge over the course of three hours as you refine and add texture to your design. Liz will take your finished frog back to her home kiln to bisque (first) fire and then glaze and 2nd fire for you ready to collect around 6 weeks later.

This guided step-by-step workshop is designed to teach you core clay sculpting skills that can be applied to other hand building projects should the clay bug bite! This session will help you develop your wildlife observation skills and learn how to apply these to capture the likeness of an animal in 3 dimensions.
Please note: Some people may be allergic to clay or the minerals and additives within it. Gloves should be worn if you have sensitive skin.

Liz McLelland is a wildlife artist whose ceramic sculptures are rooted in close observation of wildlife. Her characterful creatures capture our connection to the natural world and reflect the happy dance levels of joy she feels whenever a wild animal grants her a glimpse into its life. Her workshops are challenging and engaging, suitable for beginners and improvers alike as Liz guides you step by step through the process of sculpting things from mud to unleash your creativity.
