Introduction to Watercolour Landscape

Suitable for beginners or those that want to learn more about watercolours.

Take the leap and be guided in to the world of watercolour landscape art with Sally Kheng’s step by step introduction course for beginners. Watercolour paper will be provided and paints if you don’t have your own.

The day will be divided in to 3 sections:

1.How to do a simple sketch using photographic inspiration in pencil and pen. Learn to create a successful layout that is pleasing to the eye.


2. Experiment with mixing colours and learn why and how to limit your colour palette. Investigate the properties of watercolour, paint different types of skies and trees with different techniques and brushes.


3. Learn to paint a spontaneous, flowing, landscape in a loose, contemporary style whilst capturing lights and darks, using the techniques demonstrated. Your finished picture can be mounted ready for framing. One A3 mount will be included.

 

About Sally Kheng:

Sally Kheng studied art and design at Trent College in Nottingham and fine art at Edinburgh College of Art. She has spent many years sketching and painting her local Lincolnshire landscape and selling her work on the East Coast of England.

She regularly teaches painting workshops using the demo technique making them suitable for all levels of experience. Sally’s workshops push the boundaries of traditional watercolour landscape painting to semi abstract, bold and colourful representations.
