Stitched Vessels
This workshop is based on hand stitching, slow stitch. Being creative with scraps of fabric. This workshop is suitable for all abilities.
Our aim is create a stitched vessel with small scraps of fabric & hand stitching that will be of practical use.
In this busy never stop world. It is a delight to put time aside to stitch. What I love about this workshop is that you are making something practical that can be used or given as a gift.
Once you are stitched your vessel, you have options, you can leave the top edge rustic or you can add a binding to give it a more complete look. You have the option to use further embellishments, typed words, beads, lace, maps & anything else you want to use.
This workshop is a very relaxing day, maybe a “spa day for the creatives”.
All materials are provided however if you have any pieces you would like to use in creating your stitched vessel then you are more than welcome.
About the Tutor:
Debs Davis
I am a textile artist based in Woodhall spa, Lincolnshire. I enjoy using a range of techniques in my work. These include free motion embroidery & printing, particularly collagraph. I combine these techniques to emulated the subtle yet vibrant colours & textures I see in nature. I love sharing techniques with others to help them explore their creativity.
